Digital Teacher Librarian

As a teacher librarian, Ms. Nowka has a variety of roles, but her favorite is to be working with students. The role of teacher librarian is continuously evolving and often misunderstood. Ms. Nowka believes that now, more than ever, students need to be equipped to critically evaluate information they find online, through social media and in text.

Before moving into the role as a digital teacher librarian, Ms. Nowka spent 18 years teaching high school social studies as well as chaperoning groups of students on educational trips throughout Europe. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Colorado State University, and a Master of Arts degree in education from Regis University. When she is not working with students at Warren Tech, Ms. Nowka spends her time enjoying the outdoors, traveling, coaching lacrosse and spending time with her husband and three young sons. Ms. Nowka can be reached by email at [email protected] or by phone at 303-982-0220
